剧情：
夜晚，一位年轻女孩来到一家破败的旅馆，旅馆的主人Judd是个有精神病的乡下人，靠旅馆维持生计，他在旅馆的旁边养了一只大鳄鱼，这天，因为女孩没有满足他的要求，Judd杀了她并将尸体喂给了鳄鱼。接着，一对夫妇带着一个小女孩来旅馆投宿，他们的小狗却被鳄鱼吃了，为此男的要杀了鳄鱼，但Judd阻止了他。另外，失踪女孩的父亲Harvey和她的姐妹也来到了旅馆寻找，并报了警……。有这么好的毁尸“工具”，Judd能停止他所做的蠢事吗？
曾看过一些影评，很多都给了本片较高的评分，但不知为什么本片的知名度却不高（我最近常有这种感觉）。本片属于那种节奏比较慢，场景比较少，但又让你挑不出什么大毛病的电影，只偏爱特技的朋友别受电影海报的误导看本片，那会大失所望的！还有一个问题就是，影片的名为何要翻译成——《食人族大屠杀》（或起名为Eaten Alive）呢，按它原来的别名Horror Hotel或Death Trap直译做《恐怖旅馆》或《死亡陷阱》不是很好吗！
导演Tobe Hooper的其他作品：1974年版本的《德州电锯杀人狂》（The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974）；The Funhouse 1981 《恐怖欢乐屋》；《宇宙天魔》(Lifeforce)。
